The UB Distinguished Speakers Series has changed its style from 2010 to 2013 twice and I was there to help in the design work to be promoted. In Fall 2010, I got the job as a graphic designer for UB Special Events, the office that is in charge of the Distinguished Speakers Series at UB. What an incredible few years it has been since then! From Fall 2010 to Spring 2011, I designed advertisements based on previous years’ designs. In Fall 2011 and Spring 2012, we worked with BlockClub to create a new grungy yet sophisticated style. In Fall 2012 to Spring 2013, we worked with UB’s University Communications department for a fun style with black and white images and circle swirl designs in the backgrounds. My favorite has to be the 2012-2013 look. It was very fun creating the Facebook cover photo, Twitter graphics, and all the extra work. I think designing all these promotional items for the series has improved so much and I am honored to be a part of its growth.
